CARE NOTES
Before & after, with care.
What to discuss before treatment, and why your own aftercare plan matters.
Before your appointment.
Tell your provider about your medicines, recent tanning and skin history. Ask for preparation instructions specific to your planned treatment; avoid guessing at timing from a general checklist.
Protect your skin from the sun and avoid tanning. Ask your provider about the right sun protection and when to shave or change your usual hair-removal routine.
After your treatment.
Follow the aftercare instructions given for your skin and treatment. Avoid direct sun on the treated area and indoor tanning. Ask before returning to products or activities that could irritate your skin.
Temporary redness and swelling can occur. If you notice concerning or worsening symptoms, contact your treatment provider or a healthcare professional.
Before you leave, ask…
- What should I expect over the next few days?
- Which products and activities should I avoid, and for how long?
- Who should I contact if I am worried about my skin?
- When should we review my progress?
Keep your own plan close.
This guide is general information. Your provider’s individual instructions and an assessment of your skin should guide your treatment and aftercare.
